Lead tags allow you to define custom actions in your contest and award points to leads for completing those custom actions. You can configure to award points for actions taken outside of Kickofflabs, such as completing a registering for your community or app. Learn more about creating lead tags here.  

**Please note: the Lead Tag action requires a Business level or higher plan.**

Creating a Custom Lead Tag Action

1. To get started, select “Custom/lead tag” from the Actions list then select “lead tag.”
2. Next, the lead tag action editor will display. If you haven’t created a lead tag, you will need to create one first before proceeding.
3. Select a lead tag that you’d like to use for the action.
4. Add a URL that would take the lead directly to the action to be completed (like the app’s registration page for example).
5. The action will be marked as complete when the tag is applied to the lead.

Completing the Lead Tag Action

Lead tag actions are only marked as completed when the lead tag associated with the action is applied to the lead. It requires you to tell us it’s done via script, the API, or manually editing the lead. Learn more about setting up lead tags here

Some things to note in the documentation.

a. Points for lead tag actions come from the settings on the lead tag. So you set the points on the tag.

b. The action will only be marked as being completed for each lead once. There is currently not a way to give a lead additional points for completing the same action multiple times.

KickoffLabs Nudge Bar is designed to get visitors and leads to take the next step in your funnel by promoting it as a bar on your website. If the visitor was referred by a friend, the referrer’s name will appear in the bar as having invited them to join your campaign!

Getting Started With Nudge Bar

From the “More Growth Tools” section of your campaign dashboard, select the Nudge Bar to begin editing.

Next, you’ll be taken to the Nudge Bar editor where you can:

• Enable Invited By – This turns the Nudge Bar on
• Change the text color
• Change the background color
• Customize the text that appears in the Nudge Bar

Once you’ve customized the Nudge Bar settings, save your settings at the bottom of the settings page. Then, toggle the “Enable Invited By” setting to on. This displays the Nudge Bar live.

Installing the Nudge Bar

If you used a KickoffLabs landing page, the nudge bar will begin to automatically display (this can take up to 5 minutes to go live) after setting the “Enable Invited By” setting to on. If you have an external landing page, simply copy the script on the right side of the page and paste it into the header area of the page you’d like Nudge Bar to display on. If you already are integrated to KickoffLabs via Anyform/Contest Box, no need to install this script again as it’s the same script that’s used with Anyform/Contest Box.

Getting Started Excluding Fraudulent Leads From Your Public Campaign Count

To get started, access your settings via the “Set-up” drop-down

Next, select Advanced Fraud Protection 

in this screen you can check the box to exclude fraudulent leads from the public count. Be sure to scroll down to the end of your fraud settings to save your changes!

Note: Please, bear in mind, that it can take up to 30 mins for the contest to re-score and changes to take effect. You will be able to add fraudulent leads back to the count by unchecking the box, saving changes and waiting up to 30 mins for the changes to take effect.

KickoffLabs gives you a possibility of updating many leads in the same time. You can perform the bulk actions in the Lead Tab using the ‘Bulk Update …’ dropdown which has the following options:

• Resend Auto Reply – Send again the auto reply (available only if the message can be sent to all the selected leads)
• Manually Approve  – mark signups as real, quality leads.
• Add to Block List – flag signups as suspicious, potentially fraudulent emails.
• Delete – delete leads from your campaign entirely.
• Remove From Waitlist – De-rank a lead/set of leads, but keep them in the contest
• Re-Add to Waitlist – Add a rank back to a lead/set of leads

Bulk Updates are capped at 10k.

How to mark all leads from a specific email domain as fraud

1. Search for leads with certain domain. Below the example shows “yahoo.co.uk” but you can search for “mail.ru”, “gmail.com”, etc.
   
2. Tick the checkbox next to the “AVATAR” to select all the leads or tick just the checkboxes of the chosen leads, then, in the bulk update select “Add to Block List” and click “Apply“.
   
3. Once it’s done you will see all the leads, for which the action was performed, shown as fraudulent and they will all be marked with a pink triangle with an exclamation mark.
   

How to split up the query if results are too large for one bulk operation

As mentioned above, we cap the number of operations at 10k not to overload the servers.

In case your query exceeds 10k of records you can split the query to smaller parts using the signup date

Once you perform the action for one part of the query you can change the date (for example between 08/08/2021 and 09/09/2021) and perform the action again for other parts of the query.

The advanced Fraud Detection is available on Business and higher plans. To access its setup, follow the path Setup > All Settings 

and then click Advanced Fraud Protection

You will be taken to a new screen where you can set up advanced fraud protection. After making any changes, please, remember to click “Save Fraud Settings“.

Custom Referral Block List

Referrals from any domains listed in this area will be marked as fraud. Here is a list of known sweepstake domains you may want to block. Known sweepstake sites are typically contest/sweepstake directories where people across the internet share their unique URL’s, discount codes etc. These typically result in low quality leads as the visitors really only care about getting free things and not about the companies/products themselves.

Custom Email Domain Blocklist

By default we flag fraud from hundreds of know bad email domains, however, we give you also an additional option where you can add your own domains.

Add your own here with each on it’s own line. When this is changed any email addresses ending with these domains will be marked as fraudulent.

Fraud Protection In Use

Here is an example lead which has been marked as fraudulent

Once you click the triangle with the exclamation mark you can see why the lead has been marked as fraudulent. You have an option of manually accepting the lead as legitimate.

In this tab you can find information such as data captured by the form, source information, contest info (score, rank and sharing links) and sign up details.

In this tab you can see lead’s progress on your campaign actions. Generally actions are marked as completed as leads do them, but this gives you a backup or a way to manually verify that a lead completed an action. Learn more about actions here.

“Tell your friends!” action has “NA” in the column “Completed” because this action refers to number of friends referred and can not be altered in this screen. All the other actions can be marked as completed.

Edit Lead to Complete Lead Tag Action

From the “Lead” section of your campaign:  Select the lead you’d like to apply the tag to > Select “Edit Lead“, then scroll to the bottom of the settings to the “Lead Tag” area and check the tag you want to add to the lead. Learn more about Custom Lead Tag Actions here.

The same tab can be used to update the number of points for a lead.

• Values in the “Custom Points” field can be positive or negative
• When custom points are added they will show up for you on the score tab of the lead card with the reason entered
• It takes a few minutes for the points to process, update ranks in the contest, etc.
