Set up scoring and actions
This guide walks through set up scoring and actions for referrals, rewards, and scoring.

Have you ever wanted to reward a lead just sharing your contest/campaign? Did you ever want to provide an incentive for liking your contest page? Or maybe even just liking your company’s home page on Facebook? Or what about throwing someone a couple of extra points for following you on X (formally Twitter)?
Customize your contest scoring
Section titled “Customize your contest scoring”To enable or edit scoring, select Scoring from the Setup menu.

Here, you will find a menu with scoring options.

Scoring types
Section titled “Scoring types”Scoring options include:
- Sign-up and referrals: Award points when leads sign up or refer someone who signs up.
- Actions: Award points for tasks leads complete outside KickoffLabs, such as visiting a website or following a social profile. Read the Actions master guide.
- Purchases: Award points for Shopify purchases or points per dollar spent. See Shopify Rewards purchase tracking.
- Lead Tags: Reward external actions such as purchases, downloads, or signups through lead tags. This is an advanced option and may require custom code. Learn more about lead tags.

What to check after
Section titled “What to check after”- Confirm the setting, export, integration, or message changed where you expected in KickoffLabs.
- If this affects leads, forms, referrals, emails, or integrations, submit a fresh test lead and verify the result end-to-end.
- Save the campaign URL, test lead email, screenshots, and any error messages before contacting support.
