Set a share preview on an external campaign page

Last reviewed: 2026-09-23

If a share link points to a site you host outside KickoffLabs, that site’s HTML controls its link preview. This includes pages using an embed or the AnyForm bridge. Set metadata on the external page itself, then test the URL that leads actually share.

For KickoffLabs-hosted pages, use Pages & forms → Shared settings → Browser & social sharing for campaign defaults and the page’s Manage → Page settings → Link preview for an override. Those controls do not edit the HTML head of an unrelated website.

Add a page title, description, and social tags inside the external page’s HTML <head>. Use the public URL and an image URL that a visitor can load:

<title>Your campaign title</title>
<meta name="description" content="A short campaign description">
<meta property="og:type" content="website">
<meta property="og:url" content="https://example.com/campaign">
<meta property="og:title" content="Your campaign title">
<meta property="og:description" content="A short campaign description">
<meta property="og:image" content="https://example.com/share-image.jpg">
<meta name="twitter:card" content="summary_large_image">
<meta name="twitter:title" content="Your campaign title">
<meta name="twitter:description" content="A short campaign description">
<meta name="twitter:image" content="https://example.com/share-image.jpg">

Replace the sample values with your page’s public details. Your website builder may offer fields for these tags, so you may not need to edit HTML by hand. Publish the page, inspect its rendered source to ensure one intended set of tags appears, and test the final share URL in the social platform’s preview tool. Cached previews may not update immediately after a change.
