How page A/B testing works

Last reviewed: 2026-09-23

An A/B test compares two landing-page variations, A and B. A traffic weight determines how much of the test’s traffic each variation receives. The result view reports views, unique visitors, conversions, and a conversion rate for each page. A conversion rate is the number of conversions divided by unique visitors for that variation.

Keep the offer and traffic source consistent while testing a clear change, such as a headline or signup button. Allow enough visits for the difference to be meaningful, and review the raw counts before choosing a winner. If one variation receives much less traffic, its percentage can swing more sharply from a small number of signups.

Find existing experiments under Reports → A/B test history. Read the results guide for the current KickoffLabs dashboard fields. The new-test launch path needs confirmation in the KickoffLabs dashboard; see the setup guide before creating a variation.
